After completing her studies at Homerton College, Cambridge, Nola worked as a professional teacher in a variety of Junior and Middle Schools across the South of England. She found the teaching of art and craft to children highly rewarding and on retirement, dedicated herself to painting full-time.
Nola particularly enjoys the variety of mixed media and her paintings frequently mix gouache, inks, watercolour, pencil and pastels. Her style is impressionistic and vibrant colour is an important feature of her work.
She is an exhibiting member of the Guilford Art Society and the Society of Floral Painters.
