Jo March

Jo was born in 1962, the daughter of a farmer and a district nurse and grew up in the small moorland village of Darite, South East Cornwall. She studied English and European Studies at the University of Sheffield, gaining a BA(Hons).

She moved back to Cornwall in 1986 and slowly began to teach herself to paint. Her paintings are remarkably individual in outlook and style, drawing inspiration from the surrounding countryside and the people that she met whilst accompanying her parents on their daily rounds. Her earlier work was mainly portraits of people and animals, but more recently landscapes have taken prominence over the figures and her aim is to gain a greater understanding of the surrounding countryside.

Jo is now regarded as one of the West Country’s finest artists and her work is in great demand.
