Jean May Parsons

1952 – 2017

Jean was a self-taught artist living in the South Hams. Painting started as a hobby but gradually became a more important part of her life.

She worked mainly in watercolour and acrylic. Early inspiration came from a trip to Venice, where she was overwhelmed by the beauty of the architecture reflected in water.

Her subject matter broadened considerably but the influence of Venice with its richness and decorative designs was always apparent.

Jean was a member of Plymouth Watercolour Society and Plymouth Arts Club.
