Dawn studied for a Textiles Degree at Derbyshire Art College before going on to graduate at Brighton University obtaining an MA that helped push and broaden her horizons. She has since painted full time in her studio that looks out over her garden.
Paintings are usually based on still life or landscape evolved from walks or journeys. She collects imagery by gathering objects, memories or an atmosphere of a particular place. Dawn uses these ideas as a source to build layers and decorative surfaces while incorporating collage.
She has exhibited her work throughout the UK and was previously voted favourite Open House in the annual arts festival featured in ‘Absolute Brighton’ magazine. She was also cover artist for the Christmas edition of ‘Latest Art’, published in Brighton.
